Apple discontinues 20″ Cinema Display
If you check the Apple Store’s Displays page, you will that the 20″ Cinema Display is no longer available. The deletion leaves the new 24″ Cinema Display, introduced last Fall, and an old style 30″ model that is also reportedly in short supply.
“With immediate effect, the following products are ‘End of Life’ (EOL); Apple 20″ Cinema Display. All backlog will be cancelled and there is no automatic order conversion,” according to a bulletin (AppleInsider) sent by Apple to its sales and service partners.
Further, it is believed that the current 30″ Cinema Display will also soon be discontinued. However, it is likely a new model, one that includes the Mac-specific mini DisplayPort, will eventually be released.
