Apple iPhone Bluetooth headset is maybe, sorta dead

As has been widely reported, a MacRumors forum thread states that the Apple iPhone Bluetooth headset has been discontinued.

However, although one would assume that this product can no longer be purchased, forum poster iPhoneJB went ahead clicked order anyways and was to a degree successful, unearthing an interesting tidbit in the process:

APPLE IPHONE BLUETOOTH HEADSET-USA MB536LL/A $99.00 1 $99.00
Ships: Apr 30
Delivers: May 6

Is this just a silly ecommerce anomaly or has Apple let the new product cat out of the bag? Given how slickly the Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset worked with the first generation iPhone—automagic syncing, common charger with handset, etc—one hopes the mothership is planning a new and improved revival…

What’s your take?
