SquirrelFish Extreme in iPhone OS 3.0?

It’s been a really, really good weekend for unconfirmed news, or some people like to call ‘em, rumors. Of course, there’s the “from Russia with love” MacBook mini and also this tidbit, which posits that the default browser in iPod touch and iPhone will be getting a lot faster.

Wayne Pan noticed a post on Ajaxian saying that iPhone OS 3.0 includes Apple’s butt kicking SquirrelFish Extreme JavaScript engine—currently king of the heap.

With that curious thought in mind, Pan set about testing the new version of Mobile Safari.

Well, even if that’s not confirmation that SquirrelFish Extreme is in there, those are still pretty sweet results, boding well for some of what’s ailed the iPhone to date and yet another reason to be glad you’re alive this fine, fine Monday morning…

What’s your take?
