Mesa Dynamics has updated their Chrome inspired, WebKit based browser for the Mac. Stainless 0.5.5 (release notes) comes to market with nary a new feature, but many a bug quashed:

fixed: stainless manager process leaks, slows down ui after very long sessions

MacHeist has inspired a lot of controversy. From developer ire over how the spoils were divided to the group’s oft outrageous promotional stunts, it’s hard to find anyone in the Mac community that doesn’t have an opinion about these people and their annual software sale.
