Major ThinkFree ‘Office Live’ update rolls
Another way to leave Microsoft Office behind that features a best of both world’s approach offering both traditional applications installed on your Mac and the same full suite of virtual apps online. And, like NeoOffice and OpenOffice, this solution is also OOo based and free.
ThinkFree has announced a major update to its prior ThinkFree Online offering with the launch of the new ThinkFree Office Live. Leaving its competitors further behind and manifesting its leadership position in the online office suite and Web collaboration space, ThinkFree introduces a new unified online document viewer called Uni Paper and allows use of its service without the need to register as a user.
“Today’s mobile worker needs to be able to rely on a dependable and versatile productivity platform. The new unified online document viewer Uni Paper enables users to open more than 20 major document file types, no matter what office suite or application was used to create them in the first place. This includes Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), OpenOffice Open Document Format (ODF), all Microsoft Office file types, as well as exotic varieties such as the Korean Hangul Word Processor format (HWP). Uni Paper is an open viewer which can also be embedded in blog posts and Web pages to allow for fast viewing of publicly shared documents without the need to download them.
