VLC Player 0.9.9

Just downloaded a video, movie or TV show from the web and it won’t play no matter how many codecs you install? Regardless of platform, the first and last choice—QuickTime really hasn’t cut it for years—for viewing moving pictures of unknown origin is VLC Player.

Yesterday, VideoLan.org updated VLC Player to version 0.9.9, which comes to market with these fixes and features:

• workaround bug with libxml2 >=2.7.3
• video performance on Intel-based Macs
• various decoders updates on Windows
• experimental Real Video 3.0 & 4.0 using FFmpeg decoders

Best of all? VLC Player is free—get your copy of v 0.9.9 here (19.2MB).
