Apple lampoons Microsoft’s ‘laptop hunter’ with new ads

Microsoft has been gunning the engine, spinning the rims inside the tires (ie lots of smoke) with a whole series of advertisements that have been picked apart and humorously lampooned by just about everyone except Apple.

Today, the Cupertino, CA-based Mac maker has responded in kind with a single ad that distills the Redmond’s hubris to a single question: A computer that doesn’t crash or get viruses.

Apple has also released two other new Get a Mac ads—Customer Care and PC Choice Chat—that drive home the message about viruses, stability and support.

It’s pretty clear that whereas Apple may have adjusted the delivery of its Get a Mac ads, they are still on message and not responding directly to Microsoft’s often bizarre and unfocussed laptop hunter TV spots. Moreover, Cupertino is still delivering their message humor and charm…

What’s your take?
