Amazon taking Snow Leopard pre-orders

Apple’s said that OS X 10.6 will go on sale sometime in September, though the company itself hasn’t begun taking orders. That role, as in the past, has been taken on by Amazon missing the discounted that attracted buyers before:

• Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, $29
• Mac OS X Snow Leopard Family Pack (5-User), $49
• Mac Box Set w/ Snow Leopard, $169
• Mac Box Set Family Pack w/ Snow Leopard (5-User), $229
• Mac OS X Server version 10.6 Snow Leopard, $499

No discount? Considering that Apple’s offering Snow Leopard for significantly less than Leopard, Tiger or Panther, all of which retailed for $129 per individual client—it shouldn’t be too surprising the pricing is exactly as announced by the mothership.

Here’s a general link for ordering Snow Leopard from Amazon.
