Those hard working Norwegians at Opera Software have released a first beta of a milestone version of their insurgent desktop browser product. Opera 10.5 beta comes to market with an greatly improved JavaScript engine, Carakan, that’s said to be 8X faster then the one in Opera 10, as well improved HTML5 and CSS 3 support

Mozilla yesterday announced the immediate availability of Thunderbird 3.0.2, an update of the open source group’s free, open source, cross-platform e-mail and news client.
Fixes and features include:
• A trio of security issues
• Fixes for Thunderbird 2 users upgrading to Thunderbird 3
• Several fixes to IMAP

Apple has begun stocking refurbished current generation iPod touches, a first since the company started shipping in September of last year.
As of this writing, the current generation refurbished 8GB and 32GB iPod touch models are in stock and they’re priced at $169 and $259, respectively.
All refurbished iPods include a full Apple warranty and free shipping.
