OpenOffice has been available on OS X for some time and has its partisans. Of course, NeoOffice is the best Mac native open-source office suite.

NeoOffice, a full-featured set of office applications (including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs) for Mac OS X, is a Mac-native implementation of OpenOffice. The lads have updated their NeoOffice 3.1.1 there open-source productivity opus with some notable new features:

• New features in NeoOffice Mobile
— NeoOffice Mobile now saves last 10 versions of each file
— NeoOffice Mobile window is collapsible

• Native Mac OS X text highlighting

• Open Calc or Impress instead of Writer at launch

NeoOffice is not universal, but instead PPC and Intel versions are provided separately.
