‘Why You’ll Love a Mac’ needs snark [Get a Mac's dead]

In early April, Justin Long said that Apple’s Get a Mac marketing campaign was likely dead. Now, Apple’s pulled all that old collateral and points your browser to Why You’ll Love a Mac, which doesn’t (as yet) include any TV advertising.

Our favorite fruit company is now focussed on five themes — Better Hardware, Better Software, Better OS, Better Support, It’s Compatible — which are blandly informative and sadly completely devoid of any snarkasm. Yeah, there’s some boilerplate Windows 7 bitching, but it doesn’t compare to John Hodgman in the classic Broken Promises, for example.

Happily, you can find most if not all Apple’s Get a Mac ads on YouTube.

Here’s hoping Apple’s developing new Mac ads — Steve, hear our plea! — and that they’re really, really snarky…

What’s your take?
