It’s Effin’ Science — This isn’t science. It’s Effin’ Science. It’s a full-on hack of the sciences with one goal in mind: to build, create and do the kind of stuff guys always wanted, wish they’d invested or didn’t know they needed — until now! The experiments can be over-the-top, like turning a pool party into a massive game of Battleship.

The Hard Times of RJ Berger — The Hard Times of RJ Berger orbits the hilariously-hellish lives of a deeply unpopular 15-year-old and his scheming, sex-obsessed best friend, Miles Jenner. Other than pining after the girl of his dreams, Jenny Swanson, receiving daily beatings from the meanest jock in school, Max Owens, and evading the stalker-ish advances of Lily Miran, there really isn’t much excitement in RJ’s life.

Single of the Week — For the on-again, off-again saga that is the 22-20s, Latest Heartbreak is evidence that personnel changes haven’t altered the group’s gut instinct: to rock with dark, bluesy authority. Martin Trimble, James Irving, Glen Bartup and second guitarist Dan Ware form the 22-20s nucleus, forging a new ear for British blues.
Discovery Download — This Nashville-based bluegrass band is a family affair, consisting of father Jere, mother Sandy, and their musical brood. The Cherryholmes have a penchant for garnering Grammy nominations, and the carpe diem-themed Live It, featured on their seventh album, is simply sparkling: the perfect soundtrack for relaxing on the back porch as the sun sets. Seventeen-year-old Molly takes lead vocals on Live It, grabbing select high notes like they were hanging from an apple tree as she’s joined by tranquil mandolin and soothing vocal harmonies.
Canción de la Semana — Los Claxons are comprised of four talented guys from Monterrey, Mexico, who know their way around a soft rock ballad. On Talvez Me Estoy Tomando el Pelo, the two lead singers, Sanchez and Nacho, take turns flaunting their contrasting vocals strengths — one high and grainy, the other deep and resonant. A mélange of acoustic and electric guitars, the track gradually dials up the tension before it releases into a cathartic sing-along.
