FlashToHTML5: Helps cure browser itch

Adobe and their developer fellow travelers aside, who actually likes, has a real affection for Flash? Yeah, lots of people can see the need, but like? Not so much, especially when there are fast, easy and hands free ways to avoid the malware ridden, battery sucking, CPU death that is Flash.

FlashToHTML5 is a new Safari extension that gives you the power to remove Flash from the video watching equation wherever possible, reducing resource consumption and improving security. FlashToHTML5 automatically loads video at the highest quality available, without the advertisements and “interactivity” that get in the way of watching.

FlashToHTML5′s creator, Joris Vervuurt, says the drawbacks of his Safari extension are that there’s no support for subtitles and user-captions. However, he hints that these features could show in a future version.

So, rid yourself of that embarrassing itch without a messy cream or hard to hide powder. Get your very own copy of FlashToHTML5 here (8.2K).
