Acrobat Reader 9.3.4, 8.2.4 address critical security issues

The high-profile, ongoing ebb and flow battle between Adobe and cyber criminals continues apace with the release of yet another Acrobat Reader security patch. Acrobat Reader 9.3.4 and Acrobat Reader 8.2.4 Updates (release note) come to market with a single purpose: address a range of “vulnerabilities [that] could cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.”

This is an out-of-cycle patch, a fact that underscores the severity of the security vulnerabilities (hopefully) ameliorated by this update.

Additional information on the vulnerabilities covered by these updates can be found here. Acrobat Reader updates can be downloaded here.
