Firefox 4 beta 4: Panorama aims to tame tabs
Mozilla’s been stepping out the new features with each new preview and this latest beta release is no exception. Whereas beta 2 put tabs on top and beta 3 boosted JavaScript, the world’s favorite open source browser delivers Firefox Sync integration and Panorama, a new tab management feature, with this latest download.
Mozilla has announced the immediate availability of Firefox 4 beta 4 (release notes), which is the most important beta to date as it finally puts Panorama — the marquee feature of this whole-number update — in user hands for the first time.
If you’re working on multiple projects with scores of tabs across a dozen windows, Panorama could be a godsend. This is all the more true when you pair it with Firefox Sync, which makes keeping bookmarks, sessions and even individual tabs in sync across multiple computers and devices a snap.
Previously, a Firefox add-on, Sync is now baked right in so it should easier to use and easier on resources, a constant issue with this browser.
Mozilla seems to be executing well with the Firefox 4 beta 4 rollout. Still, are these new features enough to keep you in fold or is too slow still too slow…
What’s your take?
