Happy 5th birthday, Pandora!

Regular readers know that I’m a big fan — it’s loaded on my Mac, iPad and iPod touch. With 48-million users, obviously, I’m not alone in my love for this free streaming service and August 29th marks the day In 2005 that Pandora left private beta and went live to the people. Founded by Tim Westergren back in 2000, Pandora was among the first curated music services on the web, outlasting and eclipsing a host of rivals.

Here’s company CEO and founder Westergren talking to Charlie Rose about the profound impact the Pandora Radio for iPhone (iTunes, free) has had on his company’s fortunes since it came to the platform in the Summer of 2008.
