Yeti USB vs. AT2020: The better podcasting microphone?

31 August 2010 2,027 views 2 Comments

Really, I’m posing this as a question. I’m about to start with a video podcast (more on that later) and I need to buy a microphone, and these two microphones seem to come most often. So, I put it to you faithful FairerPlatform readers, which is better — the Blue Microphones Yeti USB or Audio Technica AT2020?

Please share opinions (and rants) in the comments below…

Both have relatively good sound but the Yeti has different pattern settings which makes it a bit more versatile-especially if you’re in a conversation with someone on your podcast. You can set it to omni as opposed to cardioid so it picks up from both sides of the mic. I think the AT2020 just has a fixed cardioid pattern.
