Open Safari tabs seven ways to Sunday
If you’re looking for ways to leave your lover, Paul Simon covered that ground well 30-plus years ago with his 50 ways. Thereupon, after slipping out the back and hopping on the bus, you’ll need to fill that commute with some quality Mac learning, which will likely prove pivotal in winning over your next soulmate of the week.
Seriously, if you wanna remain pure like Violet Blue, you’ve gotta have a nice package. Of skills, that is.
Rinse and repeat
According to Mac OS X Hints, there are at least six ways to open new tabs in Safari. I think I can do that list one and a little more better, though some may question the semantics:
• Double-click the empty space in the Tab Bar just to the right of an open tab
• Command + T
• Control-click (or right click) the empty space to the right of your tab(s) and selecting “New Tab”
• Clicking the small ‘+’ sign on the far right of the tab bar
• Control-click (or right click) a URL, and selecting the “Open in New Tab” option
• Command-click a URL
• Go to Preferences > Tabs > check “Open pages in tabs instead of windows”
— This puts links opened via other apps (i.e. Mail) in new tabs
— Command-click a link in Mail
— Control-click a link in Mail, which gives you two choices
Are there more methods? I certainly hope so and likewise hope that you will share this superior knowledge with the rest of us…
