Mercedes-Benz rolling iPad to all 355 dealerships
Back in late May, the FairerPlatform brought you the news that Mercedes-Benz was equipping 40 dealerships with iPads to civilize and speed up the sales process. Now, about four months later, this pilot program has been so successful that the luxury German carmaker has decided to kit out every US dealership with Apple tablets.
In the traditional sales model, car salesmen need to pull customers back to their offices or cubicles (and off the showroom floor) in order to check financing and close a deal. That chain of events will no longer be necessary at all 355 Mercedes-Benz dealers in the US following a highly successful 40-location iPad pilot program.
“We were surprised,” said Andreas Hinrichs, vice president, marketing, Mercedes-Benz Financial. “The feedback was so positive we said, we need to push this out to all the dealers and take the financing process to a new level.

“This creates a lot of transparency for the dealership, a lot of flexibility for the dealer,” Hinrichs added.
The company expects to roll out 3G versions of the iPad to all of its US dealers by the end of this month.
