How many old iPods do you have — doesn’t everybody have at least one? Well, if you’ve got a thick skin and good innate BS detector, there’s always Craigslist and eBay. However, if it (or they) are still functional and not too banged up, there’s another way to get trade up cash toward a new iPod.

CNNMoney brings us the welcome news that Toys R’ Us will be running an iPod “trade up” program from Sunday, October 17 through Saturday, October 23. For that single week, the toy and amusement retailer will be offering the opportunity to turn your old iPod into a bright n’ shiny new one.

“Customers can bring in up to three of their previously used but still working iPods to a Toys “R” Us service desk, and the store will make an offer for each music player, depending on the age and model.”

How much of an offer? According to CNN, you could get up to $100 for your old iPod, depending on the model, age and condition. Look for additional details in this Sunday’s paper or just visit your local Toys ‘R’ Us store…
