Where to buy Microsoft Office 2011

Microsoft will begin shipping Office for Mac 2011 on Tuesday, October 26. Pretty much everyone who’s reviewed, David Pogue aside, Redmond’s latest iteration of the productivity suite for the rest of us has raved about how good it is, including Apple COO Tim Cook who praised it saying that Outlook in particular is “exceptionally good.”

Amazon — $109.99, $129.99, $174.99, $239.99
— Free shipping, no sales tax in most states

MacMall — $109.99, $129.99, $174.99, $239.99
— Free shipping, no sales tax in most states

MacConnection — $119.95, $149.95, $185.32, $249.95
— Free shipping, no sales tax in most states

I also checked CDW, ABT, Small Dog, Fry’s and MacZone, and the best deal you’ll get with them is the MSRP plus free shipping. However, after Tuesday, October 26 when Office 2011 officially goes on sale, you might wanna check back with Small Dog as they’re known for good bundle pricing.

Thereupon, the best prices right now are at MacMall and Amazon and they both offer free shipping. So, it comes down to choice of which vendor you prefer and/or gets it to you sans sales tax…

What’s your take?

Probably the best place to get Office 2011 is Amazon or eBay in a couple of years time. Just wait a bit and the price will come down.

David Pogue is not the only one to diss the Office Suite 2011, by the way.
