They have come up with a better recipe for getting the movies on your Mac and streamed content together in one place, which comes via the movies sidebar and a spruced up user interface. And, now there is better social network integration, as well, with Google Buzz (huh?), Twitter and Facebook baked right in.

As we approach Wednesday, November 10 — the day the Boxee Box (Amazon, $199.99) finally ships — Boxee has upped its desktop game with the release of Boxee 0.9.23.15885

Updated Movie Section — Boxee now includes a “Movie Library” option in the sidebar that provides access to a huge global catalogue of streaming movies from MUBI, Indie Movies Online, OpenFilm, EZTakes, YouTube, and Hulu.
Offline mode — Boxee now presents an indication when it is offline and will automatically try to login when the network is restored.
Settings have been reorganized on both Settings screen and OSD (on screen display) for playback settings.
Recommendations from your friends on Google Buzz are now available in the Boxee feed similar to Facebook and Twitter.
The Queue and Feed refresh every 30 seconds instead of every 10 minutes on the Home Screen.
Hardware Accelerated video-decoding (h.264 only) has been added to Mac Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.3 with NVidia graphic cards.

Yup, you read that correctly — H.264 hardware acceleration is only available on newer Macs with nVidia graphics. I realize this is what Apple’s made available to developers, but it’s still disappointing that ATI GPUs haven’t (yet) made the list.
