And, still we wait for the hardware accelerated version of the Swiss Army knife video playback solution for the Mac. Well, at least there are regular maintenance updates, like this one, to keep the flicks, shows and clips flowing more or less smoothly. VideoLAN has pushed out VLC Player 1.1.5 (release notes), which burnishes existing features without bringing much of anything new to the table and that is on whole a good thing

• 1,000 Web-show listing integrated inside VLC’s playlist, provided by Channels.com
• New Game Music Emu (GME) support
• Mac/Power-PC port fixed in 1.1.4.1
• live .webm stream support
• Codec updates
• Miscellaneous fixes on all Interfaces, Demuxers and Decoders modules
• Now available in Asturian, Armenian and Modern Greek

Get your copy VLC Player 1.1.5 here (64-bit Intel only, 40MB).

Where is hardware accelerated decoding? Well, it’s coming in v1.2, which was promised for August, and there’s still no sign of that just yet.
