Sometimes Flip4Mac promptly reminds me it’s time to upgrade, but usually [*cough*] I end up reading it here first. Thereupon, this is a plain jane bug fix of this still necessary passel of Windows Media codecs, which allow you to import, export and play Windows Media video and audio files on your Mac.

Flip4Mac WMV Player 2.3.6.5 (release notes, .pdf) is now available and comes to market with a modest set of changes baked in:

• Fixed possible crash or hang in Google Chrome when viewing certain pages
• Added support for MIME type “application/x-ms-wmp” to the plugins
• Fixed a licensing crash that may occur under Snow Leopard
• Prevent installer from complaining about newer versions already on disk

Flip4Mac WMV export components can be used with QuickTime Pro, Final Cut Pro, Compressor and iMovie 06, though iMovie ’08 and ’09 not supported.

Get your copy of Flip4Mac WMV Player 2.3.6.5 here (23.5MB).

The new Mac Pro. It’s the fastest Mac ever.
