This is my favorite game on the iPod touch and iPad — my kids love it, too. One of the really slick things about this side scrolling helicopter combat game is that you control it using your idevice. This same über funky cool control technology is also available in the Mac version, which is very sweet.

The Mac App Store has arrived and, as Majic Jungle promised back at the end of November, Chopper 2 for Mac is available on launch day and is priced at 80 percent off the suggested retail price. At just $0.99, this is a great deal on a great game.

Again, in order to use your iPhone or iPod touch as a controller when playing either the iPad or Mac version, you’ll need to download and install Chopper 2 for iPhone (iTunes $0.99). And, yup, that’s a big 80 percent discount, too.

Even if you don’t want the Mac version, take advantage of Majic Jungle’s one-day-only $0.99 price for the Universal iPhone/iPad version.

Yes, you must install OS X 10.6.6 in order to access the Mac App Store, but that’s free and chock full o’ regular bug fixes and feature tweaks — stuff you need anyway.

Now, please excuse me while I “invest” the rest of the day playing Chopper 2…
