It’s widely believed that Verizon sold 500,000 iPhones after 17 hours when the device became available for pre-order from 3am on Thursday, February 3. Rick Franklin, analyst, Edward Jones believes that Big Red could sell as many as 2 million iPhones this quarter, which actually amounts to about 40 sales days

“Apple is really focused on being a wireless mobile company more than a computer company,” said Michael Yoshikami, chief investment strategist, YCMNet Advisors. “The Verizon iPhone is just one step towards that.”

For his part, Mike Abramsky, RBC Capital Markets, said that sales in the first week may top 1 million units and that the first year total could surpass 9 million CDMA iPhones.
