Camino 2.0.7 adds Flash plugin checker

This Mac-only implementation of Mozilla’s Gecko browser engine has dedicated users, attracted by the creamy smooth user interface and other platform specific features. For example, when you launch the new version, the welcome page checks for an outdated Flash Player plug-in to help keep you up to date — something every browser should do.

Camino 2.0.7 (release notes) is now available and, aside from the aforementioned Flash plugin checker, it’s a maintenance update:

Once You Know, You Newegg• Improved the handling of bad SSL certificates

• Restored the ability for certain Java applets to open new windows

• Flash plugin checker that makes sure you’re up-to-date

• Available in 14 languages, including Chinese and Turkish

• Various security and stability updates

Just for giggles, I pointed Camino at the HTML5 Test and the result wasn’t pretty — just 56 points out of 400.
