Geekbench: Adds 2011 MacBook Pro, fixes Mac App Store glitch

Geeks go back and forth all the time about merits of real world performance versus benchmarking. I’d like to say I have an opinion on the subject, but my 2007 iMac just keeps running smoothly whether I consider the issue or not — call it a state of blissful and indifferent ignorance.

Nevertheless, fish gotta swim and geeks have to benchmark. That said, Geekbench 2.1.13 (blog) is now available and brings this fairer platform favorite up-to-speed vis-a-vis the mothership’s latest pro portables.

• Added support for MacBook Pro (Early 2011)
• Fixed conflicts with Geekbench from the Mac App Store
• See benchmarks for Apple’s 2011 MacBook Pro

here (Mac App Store, $12.99). You can also download it direct from PrimateLabs for nothing, but that version only allows a limited set of tests — apparently, geeks have to eat, too.
