Fireside International, a Mac equipped media school in Haiti of earthquake fame, recently received a donation from Rosetta Stone worth a cool $45,000. The catch is that their Macs are older PowerPC models and the donated software only runs on Intel-powered Apple kit. The bottom line is that Fireside needs 11 shiny new, or newish, Intel Macs to make it all work.
That said, Fireside plans to open another location that will be equipped with the aging yet still beautiful Power Macs. Waste not, want not.
I’ve donated $10 to the cause. How about you?

it’s bad enough that they have aids and earthquakes.
