Want Mac app deals? Get Store News

Apple’s recently launched Mac App Store is a great resource despite the fact that it’s actually hard to discover what’s new and what the best deals are — it’s more than a little opaque. A new app from Christian Kienle aims to tame the tangle by listing currently discounted applications.

Store News (Mac App Store, free) sifts the ever growing pile of chaff that is the Mac App Store and delivers an updated list of current discounts every 15 minutes. That’s a pretty good interval considering Apple posts updates to the store every 30 minutes.

This is an extremely simple app with no preferences, though you can sort listed items by price, discount, name and category via a pull-down menu.

Additionally, users can share what they’ve found via Twitter.
