You’ve got to love local TV news

Wanna know what Apple’s up to at its Maiden, North Carolina data center? Well, a local real estate agent, a guy who owns land just down the road, seems to have the inside scoop, which is about the only “first hand” information in the local Fox News affiliate’s coverage of the facility and what’s going on there.

However, my favorite bit in the piece comes from a local official that’s, well, rather gung ho on Apple and the hundreds of high-paying jobs the company has brought to area.

“I’m ready to get the phone call and proceed with building anything that they want,” said Scot Millar, president, Catawba County Development Authority, referring to the nearly 200 acres of still undeveloped land Apple owns near Maiden.

Millar’s enthusiasm is all-the-more refreshing when compared to the conclusions of a Greenpeace report, “How dirty is your data”, that predictably condemns Apple’s high-efficiency and potentially game changing data center.

Trying to attract business? Enthusiasm and commitment are real turn ons for investors…

What’s your take?
