David Pogue an ‘iAbuser’

The happy go lucky New York Times technology columnist is an iabuser? David, say it isn’t so! The truth of the matter is that New York police responded to the couple’s home to find both sporting fresh wounds — ah, l’divorce.

Boston Herald brings us the sad and sordid tale of David and Jennifer Pogue, who are going through a nasty divorce. It seems Mrs. Pogue returned from a vacation, no doubt in fighting trim, on Monday to her former domicile to collect the kids when a fight broke out — police were eventually called to the scene to restore domestic tranquility.

Apple Online Store [David] told police his wife had bitten his left arm and that she had been filming the altercation with her iPhone camera. [Police] said David Pogue followed Jennifer Pogue into a bedroom and allegedly jumped on top of her and hit her in the head with [the iPhone].

Head wounds and bite marks? Tetanus shots for everybody!

A police department spokesperson refused, citing device confidentiality, to comment on reports that the iPhone had been damaged or if it had sought treatment.

That said, the couple appeared in court later in the week where the judge issue protective orders against both Mr. and Mrs Pogue — the two had been charged by police with disturbing the peace. I’m guessing those two already have some history with the police and judge…

It is none of our business.

Reputation has been harmed by this kind of busybody news and is it our business when a couple is fighting, er I forgot pogue is a public domain figure so everything he does is news.

    Get a life. Sad.

Can’t wait for “Spousal Abuse – The Missing Manual.” Isn’t it interesting that while humans have made great progress in areas of technology and communications, we’re still pretty stone-age when it comes to emotions?

How about “Spousal Abuse for Dummies”?

Um, nobody — not even the police — has used the word “abuse.”

It was a scuffle over a phone; she bit him, he rapped her on the head. That’s not “abuse” any more than it’s “abuse” if you knee a mugger in the groin.

If there was abuse, he’d have been charged with a lot more than Disorderly Conduct! (And the article notes that the charges will probably be dropped anyway.)

David Pogue would do much worse than grab an iphone that threatens to expose his less-than-clever dark underbelly of self-loathing, shame, mis-deeds, arrogance, superiority, and all those other lovely qualities of a deeply-afflicted NARCISSIST.

Trust me, Jennifer Pogue became a victim the day she said yes to his undoubtedly goofy-charming invitation to become his new mommy, er, adoring fan, er, wife.

I’m surprised domestic abuse was kept quiet this long with the long arm of the Pogue family legal defense team in reach (father, brother, sister, all lawyers).

@Steve No wonder the police arrested her, too — conspiracy. Any other news from the grassy knoll?

I can’t believe New York hasn’t yet passed the Anti-Narcissist Monitoring and Control Act. It’s completely unacceptable that the Pogues of the world are allowed to walk the streets in full view of shiny surfaces that could reflect innerly palsied visages.

Shame, shame, shame on New York!
