The tide seems to be turning on actual availability of ThunderBolt peripherals - The Apple Store now lists Promise Technologies TBolt drive arrays as shipping 'within 24 hours' - with price tags in the $1500 and up range. Ouch. Next in the pipeline will likely be LaCie's LittleBig Disk dual-SSD drive - but with 2 256GB Intel SSD's inside, I'm betting that first model will likely come in around $1000.

With Intel seemingly the only manufacturer, distributor or licensee of ThunderBolt chipsets - TBolt will likely be a high-end, Pro market niche for quite awhile until economy of scale drives prices down to the consumer end. I'm betting any ThunderBolt drive cases or adapters that first come to market are gonna be rather pricey as well...
