ClickToFlash works great in Safari 5.1

Adobe Flash is just about everywhere and sooner or later you’ll need it to get something or another done. In other words, it’s a necessity. But, you don’t have load every flashing, blinking, beeping advertisement to keep Adobe’s Mac masticating middleware (forgive my alliterations).
I don’t use many Safari Extensions, but there’s one I recommend to everyone — ClickToFlash. It forces sites such as YouTube to deliver video in HTML5, which helps keep you feeling Springtime fresh while reducing CPU and RAM usage.
Additionally, as shown in the image above, ClickToFlash allows you to right-click (CRTL + Click) on a YouTube, etc. video and download. Also, you can configure Flash display preferences on a site-by-site basis and this extension has a site whitelist, as well.
It’s really good and free.
However, the ClickToFlash plugin doesn’t work in Safari 5.1 on either Snow Leopard or Lion. So, now’s a good time to upgrade to the ClickToFlash Safari Extension and don’t forget to check out the Fairer Platform’s Top 10 Safari Extensions.
