Firefox 6 final slips out early

I think we’re seeing the beginning of a pattern. When Mozilla shipped Firefox 5, they announced on Friday that final code would ship the following Tuesday, but it arrived two days early on Sunday instead.
Granted, it took some digging to find the download links and release notes were withheld until the announced ship day, but final code was out there.
Now, Mozilla’s gone and done it again, announcing Tuesday as the date and shlipping on Sunday. PCMag and a host of others are reporting that Firefox 6 is now available.
Again, the most recent release notes are the last beta update, but that’s likely to be part and parcel of what’s changed.
However, for fans of the real internet, it’s good to know that Firefox 6 offers much improved HTML5 compatibility.
That said, clicking “check for updates” in About Firefox returned me no love — get your very own copy of Firefox 6 here.
