Get your geek on, Star Wars fans! Although my initial reaction to this app was, “Ugh, a blatant commercial come on,” it’s too cool not to love. Or, put another way, I am a total sucker for anything from “Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.”

If you’re a died in the wool Star Wars fan, chances are you’ve already seen most if not all of the content in Star Wars Blu-ray: Early Acccess, an app that teases Lucas Films’ upcoming Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) [Blu-ray] available for preorder from Amazon ($89.99) to be released on September 16.

Nevertheless, there’s a lot of content — interviews, documentary style making of clips, concept art (i.e. “Rescue of Vader, above), 3D models that you can spin around and more — I can’t wait to show my son.

Further, whereas my first pass through all of the content took about an hour, I will come back to this app for longer looks, as well as quick fixes, something you can do anywhere — content is downloaded and stored on your iPad or iPhone.

There’s no escape…
