The mothership has announced that it will hold its regular quarterly conference call with analysts to discuss Q4 – 2011 financial results. The call will be webcast, audio only, and is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm (EST) on Tuesday, October 18, 2011.

And what are the results expected to come at? As reported by Fortune, here’s what Apple told us (always ridiculously low), the professionals’ consensus estimate (almost always wrong) and the amateurs, respectively.

• Apple’s guidance (offered in July):
Earnings per share of $5.50 on sales of $25 billion

• Consensus of 42 professional analysts (via Thomson Financial):
Earnings of $7.10 on sales of $28.99 billion

• Consensus of 7 amateur analysts (submitted to Apple 2.0):
Earnings of $9.20 on sales of $34.36 billion

I think the amateur consensus will ultimately prove to be closer to the mark…
