Apple’s 2011 $100 Mac App Store promo deal ends today

Definitely not the mothership’s most popular Back to School promotion, but free stuff is still free stuff. And, if you need a new Mac, you might as well take advantage of the offer — Buy a Mac for college and get $100 to spend on the Mac App Store.

Further, if you buy from the Apple Store for Education — college, K-12 and most technical schools are eligible — prices are marked down a minimum of $50 and some Macs are hundreds off the suggested retail price.

That said, check your local Craigslist for people selling the Mac App Store/iTunes Store gifts cards — some folks are only asking $50 for the $100 card.
