California declares Oct 16 ‘Steve Jobs Day,’ memorial planned

California Governor Jerry Brown has declared that Sunday, October 16 will be “Steve Jobs Day.” In related news, Apple has summoned the Silicon Valley elite to an invite only memorial service on the same day for Apple genius zero, writes Wall Street Journal.
The event will be held at Stanford University’s campus Sunday evening, according to the invitation. It follows a small private funeral held for the Apple co-founder last week.
WSJ adds that guests to the invitation-only service were asked to respond to Emerson Collective, a philanthropic organization founded by Ms Powell Jobs.
Apple will hold a Steve Jobs memorial service on Wednesday, October 19 for Apple employees at the company’s 1 Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino, CA.
Jobs passed on Wednesday, October 5 after a long battle will pancreatic cancer.
