Let It Snow is now very tweakable

When this “unscreensaver” came out a few weeks back, I noted it could be much better if there were controls for things like snow amount, speed, etc. Whether they were listening to me or this stuff was just coming, but developer Ilia has built out the prefs, and as a result this affordable and festive little app is just better.
Right now, snow is falling inside my iMac — it’s pretty, not in the least cold and I won’t be firing up the snowblower anytime soon to clear it out. In a nutshell, it’s a perfect kind of snow.
And, as alluded to in the lead and shown in the image, Let It Snow ($0.99, Mac App Store) now offers nearly a dozen ways to tweak and control snow volume, speed and more.

Did you read the user comments about CPU usage on the new version 1.2? Seems a lot for this type of thing.
CPU usage can be high, but can be kept under control by dialing back snow volume, speed, etc.
However, even running this app flat out by dialing up all of the prefs doesn’t slow my Mac down, though there’s so much snow on the screen as to make work impossible.
That said, memory usage just keeps going up, more quickly at first but seemingly inexorably. Here again, though, it hasn’t made my Mac slower.
Nevertheless, it’s obvious Let It Snow is a work in progress and progress has been made. To me it’s worth the 99 cents for a little seasonal fluff…
