Songbird adds more Androids

Are these the ones you’re looking for? Mac owners that also use an Android or Blackberry have limited music and data sync choices, but options there are and, thankfully, constant improvement is part of the equation.

Winamp bills itself as the the media player for Android, but isn’t the only let alone longest lived player in the space.

SongBird 1.10.2 (release notes, blog) is a relatively elegant solution to an inelegant pairing of the Mac with a range of non-Apple devices, and perhaps best of all it’s free and open source.

Features and fixes include:

• Official support for Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy SII, HTC Evo 3D, and Galaxy Nexus
• Playlist and track sync with Android devices has been improved
• The issue with WMA tracks not being playable after updating to 1.10.1 should be resolved
• When creating a Smart Playlist with the criteria of “Playlist is Library,” Songbird no longer crashes
• Plus a quartet of other bug fixes

Get your copy of Songbird 1.10.2 here. Android owners will also need to download Songbird Mobile.
