Lots of you already know Apalon and Pimp Your Screen from the iOS App Store. It’s a great app that no one one needs, but people love because it delivers an intuitive way to transform their iPhone and iPad’s display with beautiful, superb quality images.

Apalon has brought the same sense of discovery to the fairer platform with Pimp Your Screen ($2.99) for Mac — you get instant access to scores of professionally created wallpapers that appear on your Mac’s desktop with just a couple clicks.

Pimp Your Screen for Mac ships with scores of images organized in eight categories (image above, another below the fold) — hundreds of choices — which you can extend by adding your own images from iPhoto, web or wherever you find them.

Further, with this app you can automate changing your Mac’s wallpapers with preferences for what image category to display and how quickly the desktop updates.

My one complaint with this app is that it doesn’t recognize my second display.

No, you don’t need Pimp Your Screen, but it’s a great addition to your Mac, iPhone and iPad…
