So, who is this firmware update for precisely? There is nothing in the description that gives a clue, though I can say that it is not for the mid-2007 iMac (image above). Naturally, if you’re wondering if this one is for you, fire up Software Update.

When downloading Magnet links and attempting to open Movist my iMac doesn’t just hang, it crashes, always….not a fluke. Countless responses to Apple reporting these crashes have yielded nothing. After these crashes several (3-4) restarts are required to make my iMac operable.

Obviously past the “end of life” Apple wants to address.
