The Oatmeal tries to buy Game of Thrones

The hottest show on television these days is Game of Thrones, all the kids are talking about the HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s books of the same name. Another thing people are talking about is how absurdly expensive (basic cable + entertainment package) or illegal it is to watch, and that’s where The Oatmeal comes in — a really clear explanation of the whole “piracy is a customer service issue.”
As we don’t have cable, I haven’t watched Game of Thrones on TV. Nor have I downloaded it, legally or otherwise.
However, if you want to get it right now, download and install Transmsission (a free BitTorrent client). Next, go to TorLock.com, locate Games of Thrones and download the torrent file.
Lastly, double-click (tap) that file in Downloads and your video will download in a matter of hours if not minutes or seconds.
If you’re wondering what paying to watch Game of Thrones involves, both in terms of hassle and money, then call your local cable or satellite operators — the juxtaposition of legal versus illegal is eye opening to say the least…
