much improved performance, especially on iPad, as well as new comment moderation tools, including push notifications.

This app has come a long, long way since version 1.0. Once crashy to an unusable fault, WordPress for iOS is now very capable and more than a few folks, such as myself, use it for daily production work. Not perfect, but well along and this latest release offers more languages, better iPad support and much improved comment moderation tools.

Automattic has released WordPress 3.0, which comes to market with a number of notable improvements baked in:

• Push Notifications for WordPress.com. If you have a WordPress.com blog added to the app, you’ll now be able to opt in to receive push notifications of new comments.
• Swipe-to-moderate Toolbar. In the Comments list you can swipe over any item to bring up a moderation toolbar
• Vastly improved performance, especially for iPad
• Now also in Chinese (Taiwan), Hungarian, and Polish

I’m looking forward to using the Push Notifications for comments, which should make it easier to moderate comments on a hot post — nothing kills the talk faster than slow comment approval.
