No big raise for all Apple Store workers

Earlier today the rumor circulated that every single Apple Store employee here in the land of Milk and Honey Nut Cheerios would be getting a $4 an hour pay increase. A really nice gesture from Apple, a company with more than $100 billion in cash and short term investments, right?
Nope, not right.
BusinessInsider set tongues wagging earlier today when they repeated an unverified rumor that every single Apple Store employee would be getting a $4 an hour pay increase. Well, they’ve retracted that:
An earlier version of this story said that all Apple Store employees were getting a raise of at least $4 per hour. This is what we were told by a single source at an Apple Retail store. But other Apple Retail store employees say this is not true. It is possible that only employees at one store are getting raises.
Or, maybe it was just the guy who started the rumor, shining on co-workers — “You mean everyone didn’t get a raise, like me? In your faces, Apple Store losers! Boo-yah, daddy’s eating out tonight…”
