I installed the HP Drivers v2.11 on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.7.4) at the behest of Software Update and found that every time I attempted to print to the shared HP LaserJet 2200, the application instantly quit. Even selecting the driver in the print menu was enough to cause the crash. Tricky when it is the main working printer and there is no apparent way to Uninstall drivers. I was finally forced to ask Time Machine to restore the MBP back to the day before I installed the update, a process that took many hours.
Curiously, the HP C310 AiO is unaffected, works just fine.
I now need a means to tell Software Update to stop nagging me, that I don’t wish to install any HP updaters, at least until v2.12.
