Mac Audio: Boom 1.5.1 clears up ML, sound issues

Most people agree that the speakers in Apple’s MacBook and iMac produce good sound. Nevertheless, speakers fade with time and my solution to Mac audio issues is Boom, an audio enhancer both boosts and clears up music, movies and spoken word — simple, cheap and regularly updated. In a word, cool.

Boom 1.5.1 (7-day trial) is here and tackles a failure to launch on login issue (Mountain Lion) that I have experienced, as well as a “sound disappearing” bug that other folks have seen.

And, here’s a neat little trick I just learned — you can create Boom-enhanced music, movie, etc. playlists on your Mac that can be copied to your iPhone, iPod and iPad which deliver louder, clearer, brighter audio on your i-things.

When you are ready to buy, Boom is available on the Mac App Store for $6.99.
