Vectronic’s Apple World: The Ultimate Mac Museum

17 August 2012 1,855 views 6 Comments

Apple museums come and go. Vectronics Apple World is one of the biggest and most complete collections of Mac museum of hardware, publications and software.

Harry Truman famously said, “The only thing new in the world is the history you do not know.” Vectronic’s Apple World takes that idea and runs with it, delivering a serious online Mac museum, chock full o’ legacy and new Macs, peripherals, pubs and software.

Vectronic’s Apple World (VAW) (video intro below) is the online home of a really, really large collection of Apple stuff — they claim to have every copy of Macworld, Mac User and Mac Addict ever published.

Can you spot the in use Zip 250 drive?

In addition to photos and specs for every Mac, you will find scans and pics of Apple advertising and marketing materials spanning the last three-plus decades — taking in their entire Apple and Mac museum, something I’m resisting, would take hours.

Though the VAW collection is impressive, it’s still an adjunct the overall body of Mac and Apple history available online. To whit, if you want to dig into that, the Old Mac Archive — Links page is a really good place to start.
