Before iMovie, editing and exporting video was damned tedious. Part of the magic has been a stream, if diminishing in recent years, steady of updates that help keep the app fresh. The latest iMovie patch delivers a fix for an issue affecting third-party QuickTime components.

Apparently, the issue at hand includes an incompatibility with 3ivX and Apple can talk users through the associated problems. There are also issues relating to Perian and Flip4Mac.

However, if you want Apple iLife 11 on disk, get it at Amazon ($20.50).
