iMovie 9.0.8 addresses third-party QT component issue

Before iMovie, editing and exporting video was damned tedious. Part of the magic has been a stream, if diminishing in recent years, steady of updates that help keep the app fresh. The latest iMovie patch delivers a fix for an issue affecting third-party QuickTime components.

Apparently, the issue at hand includes an incompatibility with 3ivX and Apple can talk users through the associated problems. There are also issues relating to Perian and Flip4Mac.
This particular iMovie patch is for Macs running OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later, and is available direct (link above) or via the Mac App Store.
